Therapy Services for Adults and Adolescents

We provide individual therapy for adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and relational challenges.

Individual Therapy for Adults

You may be someone who looks like you have things together, but internally, it feels more complicated than that.

Things can feel anxious, overwhelming, or like you’re stuck in patterns that don’t fully make sense, even when you’re trying to move forward.

This is deeper, relational work that focuses on understanding what’s underneath what you’re feeling, not just managing it.

  • Anxiety & Overthinking
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, or feeling like your mind doesn’t slow down

    Emotional Overwhelm
Feeling easily flooded, burnt out, or like small things take a lot of energy

    Trauma & Past Experiences
Lingering impact from past relationships or experiences that still affect you now

    Relationship Patterns
Noticing the same dynamics repeating in relationships, even when you want something different

    Feeling Stuck or Disconnected

Therapy for Adolescents

Adolescence can feel intense, confusing, and hard to put into words.

Teens may be dealing with anxiety, self-esteem struggles, or relationship stress in ways that feel overwhelming or isolating.

Therapy offers a space where they don’t have to figure everything out on their own.

    • Creating a Safe, Nonjudgmental Space. Therapy offers a consistent space where they can talk freely without fear of getting in trouble, being dismissed, or misunderstood.

    • Helping Them Understand Their Emotions. Teens can feel things intensely without always having language for it. Therapy helps them; name what they’re feeling, understand why it’s happening, recognize patterns over time.

    • Teaching Coping and Regulation Skills. Therapy can introduce tools to manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, such as:grounding techniques, breathing strategies, ways to slow down racing thoughts, body-based regulation (especially helpful for trauma)

    • Supporting Identity and Self-Esteem. Adolescence is a time of figuring out “Who am I?” Explore identity and values, confidence and self-worth and independence vs. connection

    • Navigating Relationships. Therapists help adolescents make sense of:friendships and social dynamics, romantic relationships and family conflict

    • Processing Difficult ExperiencesFor teens who have experienced trauma, loss, or major stressors, therapy provides a way to process what happened in a safe, paced way. Approaches like EMDR, somatic therapy, or talk therapy may be used depending on the teen.

Approach

This work is collaborative and paced intentionally.

We’re not just focusing on symptoms. We’re paying attention to patterns, past experiences, and how your nervous system has adapted over time.

The goal is to help things feel more understandable, more manageable, and gradually, more steady.

Walk & Talk Therapy

For some, sitting across from each other in an office can feel a bit intense. Walk & Talk Therapy offers a more natural, spacious way to connect.

Sessions take place outdoors, side by side, often along quiet paths or trails in Branford, CT, Madison, CT, and Guilford, CT. Gentle movement can ease anxiety, support reflection, and create more room to open at your own pace.

This approach can feel especially supportive if:

  • it’s easier to talk while moving rather than sitting still

  • time in nature feels calming or regulating

  • a less clinical, more relaxed setting feels like a better fit

We’ll take time beforehand to talk through comfort, privacy, and logistics, making sure the experience feels steady and aligned for you.
